Bodegas Tarsus

Bodegas Tarsus

Located in Anguix (Burgos) since 1998, Bodegas Tarsus is a benchmark within the Bodegas Ribera del Duero. Of clear French influence, it is built as a French Chateau, where the terroir and the quality of the native grape is the most important. The processes of vintage and vinification are carried out by plot to respect the different ripening times of the grape.

The term Tarsus derives from Tarsus, name of a city of Cilicia (Asia Minor), cradle of the civilization of the wine.

Currently, Tarsus Bodegas has about 86 hectares of vineyard, of which 82 are Tinta del País (Tempranillo) and 4 Cabernet Sauvignon. The average age of the vineyard is 12 years, it is planted in trellis, without irrigation and pruning in green. Each plot is subject to an exhaustive care to be harvested at its optimum time and to extract the best of the grape.
